Agent, Realtor, Broker, Whos who!

A real estate agent is the basic licensed individual who can intiate a transaction and guidi ti through completion. The agent is licensed through our States department of real estate or some other regulatory agency. An agent may opt to become a Realtor by joining the local board of Relators, the State Board of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. The agent works for a Broker who may also be a realtor or act as an agent. The Broker is responsible for the transactions performed by the agent and actually owns the listings: the agent works for the Broker and can not perform certain tasks without the Brokers permission and knowledge.
